Summary
A 25-year veteran of the video game industry, Brenda Brathwaite has worked on 22 published titles including the award-winning Wizardry series of role playing games and the award-winning Jagged Alliance series of strategy role-playing games. Most recently, she worked on system design for EA on an Xbox 360/PS3 title as well as complete game designs for two serious games currently in development.
Brenda is experienced in both agile and traditional design roles, has 10+ years of lead design experience and is adept at RPG system design, abstract system simulation, narrative and story of all types and adult content in video games. She also plays well with others (see references) and has her own d10s and a Guitar Hero controller.
Brenda is the founder and chair of the International Game Developer's Sex SIG, an anti-censorship advocate and a proponent of parental rating awareness. In Spring 2007, she received a Presidential Fellowship from Savannah College of Art and Design to develop a lecture and exhibition titled "What You Don't Know About Video Games..." The project is slated for a fall 2007 debut. She is a regular speaker at universities and conferences, most recently the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2007, GDC 2006, Montreal Games Summit, Future Play 2005, GDC 2005, and the Women in Games Conference (a part of the Austin Games Conference) 2005. Her book, Sex in Video Games released in September 2006.
